Job Description

About Elewa

Elewa, Swahili for "to understand", develops bespoke software solutions from Kenya for startups and SMEs based in the EU and South Africa, serving clients across a wide range of sectors. Our clients come to us to transform their vision into products that drive measurable impact and growth across diverse industries. We deliver cutting edge projects for our clients. Fin-, Edu-, HR-, Agri-, Logistics Tech, … Name any "Tech" and we'll provide you with examples. We operate as a tech agency exporting ICT development and maintenance services from Kenya, organised into two business units: custom software development and ERP implementation.

We are very intentional about how we hire and only onboard profiles that fit our culture:

  1. Be Customer-Centric.
Being customer-centric means that we put our clients at the heart of everything we do, aligning with their vision and business value. We measure our success through their success. By keeping the customer at the core of every decision and design, we build trust, create lasting partnerships, and deliver impact that truly matters.
  2. Own the Outcome
. When we commit, we follow through. We stand by the quality of what we produce, commit to our promises, and hold ourselves accountable. Ownership is personal pride and shared responsibility-it's how we build trust as individuals and as a team.
  3. Show Grit.
We do what it takes to deliver. Criticism doesn't break us; it shapes us. Grit means relentless resolve, but also the courage to adapt, learn, and ask for help. Our strength lies in perseverance and in supporting each other when challenges arise.
  4. Relentless Pursuit of Mastery.
We are curious, adaptable, and never satisfied with "good enough". Pursuing mastery means constantly developing ourselves, challenging our skills, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Every mistake is a lesson, every challenge an opportunity.
  5. Radical Candour.
We challenge ideas, not people. We practice radical honesty and transparency while respecting each other. We debate ideas openly, disagree when needed, and commit fully once decisions are made. Honesty with empathy is the foundation of trust.
  6. Raise the Bar.
Raising the bar means striving for more than "good enough". We do it right the first time, setting new standards of quality and becoming the go-to skill for those we serve. But true excellence looks beyond the immediate task: every line of code, design choice, and project milestone contributes to a bigger picture. What we build today is designed to endure, shaping not just today's needs, but tomorrow's possibilities. Excellence isn't just our goal, it's our identity.
  7. Break Boundaries.
We refuse to stay in our technical comfort zone, Going beyond means questioning assumptions, exploring new ideas, and daring to do things differently. We challenge norms, push creative limits, and dare to do things differently. We don't just follow the beaten path, we explore new ones. By pushing boundaries in our work and mindset, we unlock opportunities that others don't see.

About the Role

We're looking for our first dedicated Product Manager to define and execute product vision and roadmaps for our high-value client projects, what we call Category A projects. This is a foundational hire; you'll help set up the product management function, define processes, and ensure every product we deliver creates outstanding user and business outcomes.

Additionally, you'll work closely with our architect, solution designers, engineering, operations, AI agents and sales to bring innovative products to market, from discovery to scale-up. All while ensuring our clients experience the "Elewa Way" of building products; walking the journey of building creative, efficient, and valuable products alongside us.

You'll focus on:

  • Develop and validate product designs with the support of AI-enabled tooling.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure client needs and solutions/ products are well understood and well executed.
  • Execute test cases and provide feedback to the technical team.

Research & Landscape Analysis:

  • Maintain a quarterly competitive and technology landscape report that identifies at least 3 actionable opportunities for (each of) your client products
  • Explore and recommend AI-powered improvements to enhance user experience or accelerate product development, aiming for measurable efficiency gains.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Drive alignment across clients, solution design, engineering, operations, and finance so that project scope changes are reduced by at least 20%.
  • Facilitate design thinking or co-creation workshops that generate innovative, validated concepts for client products.
