CATEGORY/FUNCTION INTRODUCTION
The Electrical technician is a Preventative Maintenance and Focused Improvement specialist engaged to optimise the running and maintenance of equipment within the factory. Where breakdowns occur, the multi-skilled technician will act to diagnose and troubleshoot faults and where necessary will recommend design improvements. She/he is also intimately involved with setting the Maintenance Strategy for the respective production area.
The Electrical technician is professionally competent and qualified to operate safely at a post apprentice level. She/he must be a mentally agile and advanced problem solver actively engaged in maintaining a safe work environment, which protects product quality and reduces waste and other environmental impact. She/he must be a positive contributor to the factory's work environment and culture, the technician will act as a leading coach and mentor to the Technical Operator around the areas of electrical engineering and Unilever Manufacturing System techniques.

What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be
- Focused Improvement: Application of technical skills and expertise to ensure the provision of effective engineering support within the team, focused on delivering performance targets. Directly contributing to improved safety, quality, sustainability and cost.
- Preventative Maintenance; Implement planned and preventive maintenance with rigour and skill to ensure optimal equipment reliability.

Your work will focus on these main responsibilities:

- Responsible for maintaining the machines and auxiliary equipment in good working conditions.
- Be able to identify the components of the engines such as Injection pumps, cylinders, turning gears, engine stop levers, emergency stop for the engine, electric emergency stop for the engine and others.
- Be able to identify the electric panels corresponding to each existing piece of equipment in the plant and repair these panels, substitute components of the panels such as contacts, transformers and fuses. Identify defects.
- Be able to identify the existing equipment in the MV and HV room as well as the existing equipment in the (KV Substation).
- Be able to use equipment of electric measurement such as digital and analogue Multi meters, Frequency meters, Electric Capacity meters, DC source, Oscilloscopes and others.
- Be able to execute readings of pressure and temperature indicators such as manometers, thermometers, digital panels and to measure with their specific measuring equipment.
- Be able to start and stop lubricating oil and HFO separators and take alarm readings from the separator panel without supervision.
- Be able to identify the computers of the control panel, the alarms and the trips of all the existing systems of the engines and their auxiliary equipment as well as the identification of the components of each system.
- Be able to read and create graphs of abnormalities and tendencies of the equipment and components of the engines.

Job Description
The LPG Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of LPG & Bobtail truck systems, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. Inspecting LPG pumps, meters, valves, pressure regulators, and piping systems to detect and resolve any issues that could affect performance or safety. Conduct routine preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns promptly, and ensure all repairs comply with industry safety standards and company policies. Additionally, they will work closely with the fleet and workshop teams to diagnose technical problems, recommend solutions, and maintain accurate service records.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on LPG systems, including pumps, meters, valves, pressure regulators, and piping, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair faults in LPG delivery truck systems, addressing leaks, pressure irregularities, and mechanical failures promptly to minimize downtime.
- Installation & Modifications: Install new LPG components, retrofit existing systems, and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to industry safety regulations, company policies, and local LPG handling guidelines, preventing hazards and ensuring operational integrity.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to breakdowns or system malfunctions, providing on-site support to minimize disruptions to LPG deliveries.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and repair logs for each vehicle, ensuring accurate tracking of maintenance history.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the fleet, workshop, and safety teams to coordinate maintenance schedules, share technical insights, and implement best practices.
- Training & Support: Assist in training drivers and other personnel on LPG system safety, proper handling, and basic troubleshooting procedures.
- Inventory Management: Monitor spare parts and equipment levels, coordinating with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary components for repairs and servicing.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest LPG system technologies, maintenance techniques, and regulatory changes to enhance efficiency and safety in fleet operations.
