About the Role
The Waste & Recycling Data Technician will be responsible for collecting, verifying, and entering waste, recycling, and sustainability data for large business clients using the ZeroWaste+ platform. This role ensures that client data is accurate, complete, and ready for environmental reporting, ISO compliance, and sustainability tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather waste and recycling data from client records, invoices, hauler reports, and internal systems.
- Enter data into the ZeroWaste+ platform accurately and within deadlines.
- Verify source documentation to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Categorize waste by type (e.g., organic, plastic, glass, metal, hazardous).
- Maintain organized digital records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Work closely with the Sustainability Compliance Manager to prepare reports for clients.
- Flag unusual data patterns or inconsistencies for review.
- Assist with generating monthly, quarterly, and annual waste diversion and recycling reports.
- Support the onboarding of new clients by inputting historical waste data.

Purpose Of The Role
We are looking for a
Data Engineer
to participate in the design, development, and management of our data warehousing infrastructure. This role involves building and maintaining data pipelines, managing both relational and non-relational databases, optimizing queries, and transforming raw data into structured data for analysis and reporting.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the program, MLE, product management, and software engineering teams to understand data requirements and oversee the implementation of suitable solutions to ensure stakeholders' needs are satisfied.
