Key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of process design packages, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
- Perform detailed process simulations and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ChemCAD).
- Conduct feasibility studies, process hazard analyses (PHAs), and HAZOP studies to ensure safety and operability.
- Optimize existing chemical processes to improve efficiency, yield, quality, and sustainability.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, controls) to ensure seamless integration of process designs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support project teams during detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including design reports, operating manuals, and commissioning procedures.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, innovative process solutions, and best practices in chemical engineering.
- Contribute to capital project estimation, planning, and execution from a process design perspective.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process design and engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or related industries.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ChemCAD) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and separation processes.
- Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles, including HAZOP analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote environment.
- Experience in leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- While the role is remote, knowledge of chemical processes or industries relevant to the **Bungoma, Bungoma, KE** region would be an added advantage.
