Main Duties

  • Investigating existing subsurface conditions and materials to determine their physical and mechanical properties that are relevant to the project requirements and employ the physical data to evaluate the interaction between the earthworks and structure foundations with the earth materials;
  • Performing a wide range of Geotechnical Engineering activities including planning and supervising subsurface explorations, planning and supervising laboratory testing, conducting Geotechnical Analysis, processing and analyzing Geotechnical Monitoring Data, developing recommendations and writing related reports;
  • Summarizing, evaluating, and presenting field and laboratory data using computer worksheet programs including Microsoft Excel and Sigma Plot;
  • Performing Geotechnical Analysis using finite element or finite difference computer software for seepage analysis, slope stability analysis, and groundwater flow simulations;
  • Preparing engineering reports under the guidance of senior engineers;
  • Researching and reviewing information and data for engineering projects;
  • Developing and reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications for engineering projects;
  • Coordinating with field personnel to perform subsurface exploration, field tests, and construction quality assurance inspection and testing;
  • Coordinating with laboratory personnel to perform laboratory testing on soil, geosynthetic, and water samples.
