The overall responsibility will be to oversee and manage all operations within the green coffee export warehouse, ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant storage, handling, and dispatch of coffee for export. The role involves supervising warehouse teams, coordinating export documentation and logistics, and maintaining inventory accuracy to support the company's export objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, processing, bulking, and dispatch of coffee for export.
- Ensure all operations comply with quality, safety, and export regulations as per company's standard operating procedures.
- Continuous monitoring and maintenance of the conditions of the warehouse to ensure optimal coffee quality.
- Maintain comprehensive records and oversight of sweepings, franchise stocks, and samples, ensuring they are accurately captured in stock databases and physically traceable.
- Assist in enhancing warehouse space utilization through the development of efficient facility layout designs.
- Regularly assess and update warehouse SOPs and processes to enhance efficiency and adapt to changing needs.
- Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate and real-time inventory records in coordination with the ERP/WMS system.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile variances.
- Track coffee lots by quality, grade, and customer specification.
- Track consumables inventory regularly to ensure efficiency and avoid stockouts.
- Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Export Operations and Quality Control
- Liaise with logistics and trading teams to ensure timely container stuffing and shipment of coffee.
- Work closely with the logistics department to plan and execute efficient loading schedules
- Ensure compliance with requisite warehouse documentation
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure traceability and compliance with buyer specifications.
- Support internal audit activities and contribute to certification compliances for various certification standards.
- People Management
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse team including loaders, graders, and clerks.
- Enforce discipline, safety protocols, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage attendance.
- Ensure adequate staffing and outsource worker numbers are in place to cover the necessary levels of work activity.
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Implement and maintain workplace safety procedures in line with local regulations and best practices.
- Report incidents and coordinate corrective measures.
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring timely PPE issuance and educating the team on correct usage.
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Your profile
- Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related fields.
- Minimum of 5+ years warehousing/logistics/supply chain experience in an international environment, preferably an FMCG.
- Experience in leading Health & Safety initiatives will be considered an added advantage.
- A strong background in IT and systems, with the ability to leverage technology for efficient warehouse and export operations is required.
- Leadership skills and ability to manage teams with a strong execution mindset.
