Our client, a renowned scientific research organization, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to join their fully remote scientific R&D team. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with a strong background in computational biology and extensive experience in analyzing large-scale biological datasets. You will be responsible for developing and applying computational tools and methods to interpret genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data. Key responsibilities include designing and executing bioinformatics pipelines, performing statistical analysis of biological data, and collaborating with molecular biologists, geneticists, and other researchers to address complex scientific questions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sequence alignment, variant calling, gene expression analysis, and other core bioinformatics techniques. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R, and experience with bioinformatics software and databases are essential. You will also contribute to the development of novel algorithms and the exploration of new research avenues. Excellent communication skills are required to present research findings and collaborate effectively with remote team members. A Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant research experience, is required.
