Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement bioinformatics pipelines for analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including whole-genome, exome, and RNA-Seq data.
  • Develop and apply statistical and machine learning methods to identify genomic variants, gene expression patterns, and other relevant biological insights.
  • Manage and curate large genomic and associated clinical/phenotypic datasets.
  • Collaborate with biologists, clinicians, and other researchers to define analytical needs and interpret results.
  • Develop custom scripts and software tools to facilitate data analysis and visualization.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in bioinformatics, genomics, and computational biology.
  • Contribute to the writing of research papers, grant proposals, and technical documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on experience in bioinformatics analysis, with a strong focus on genomics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python and R.
  • Extensive experience with standard bioinformatics tools and software packages (e.g., samtools, GATK, STAR, DESeq2).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and high-performance computing environments.
