  • Design and conduct advanced bioinformatics analyses on large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets.
  • Develop and implement novel computational algorithms and statistical methods for biological data analysis.
  • Interpret complex biological data, identify patterns, and generate testable hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to integrate computational findings with biological context.
  • Manage and maintain research databases and computational infrastructure.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, genomics, and related fields.
  • Write and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
  • Develop and present clear, concise reports and visualizations of complex data to diverse audiences.
  • Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the scientific direction of research projects.
  • Contribute to grant writing and secure research funding.
  • Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Participate actively in remote team meetings, discussions, and strategic planning.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in bioinformatics.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale biological datasets (e.g., next-generation sequencing).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and/or Perl.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
  • Experience with bioinformatics databases, tools, and pipelines (e.g., BLAST, GATK, STAR).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop novel algorithms and analytical approaches.
  • Excellent scientific writing and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
  • Experience working effectively in a remote research environment and collaborating with distributed teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to research challenges.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
