Our client, a groundbreaking biotechnology firm at the forefront of genetic research, is seeking a highly accomplished and innovative Principal Scientist in Computational Biology. This is a premier remote position for an expert seeking to make significant contributions to drug discovery and development. You will lead complex computational biology projects, applying advanced bioinformatics and data science techniques to analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. Key responsibilities involve developing and implementing novel algorithms and analytical pipelines, interpreting complex biological data to derive actionable insights, and collaborating closely with bench scientists, clinicians, and other computational experts to address critical research questions. You will be instrumental in designing experiments, validating computational findings, and contributing to scientific publications and patent applications. This role requires a deep understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and disease mechanisms, coupled with exceptional programming skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, mentorship capabilities, and the ability to drive scientific initiatives forward independently. While this role is fully remote, it aligns with research initiatives originating from the **Meru, Meru, KE** area. A Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, with a minimum of 7-10 years of post-doctoral or industry experience, is essential. Demonstrated expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, proficiency with relevant bioinformatics tools and databases, and experience with machine learning techniques are mandatory. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective remote collaboration and scientific dissemination.
