Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:

  • 3-5 years' experience in leading IT projects

  • 3-5 years of experience in a dedicated Scrum Master /Project Manager role.
  • Proven experience in managing software development projects using both Agile (Scrum) and traditional project management methodologies.

  • Certifications:

  • Project Management Certification preferably in Scrum

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.

POSITION SUMMARY

Adeso is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager & Financial Analyst (PMFA) to support both financial management and organization-wide project oversight. This dual function role provides an opportunity to work closely with the Finance team while contributing to the implementation of Adeso's Project Management Office (PMO), which is tasked with improving consistency and transparency across the organization's strategic initiatives.

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Analysis & Modeling

  • Build dynamic, investor-grade financial models (e.g., income statements, cash flow
  • projections, balance sheets) for each Adeso subsidiary.
  • Prepare scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess business risks and upside cases.
  • Conduct unit economics, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), internal rate of return (IRR), and return on investment (ROI) analyses where applicable.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights and clearly articulated business cases for board and investor presentations.

Market & Investment Strategy

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitor benchmarking to inform pricing, expansion, and investment strategies.
  • Support capital-raising efforts with pitch materials, financial narratives, and investor Q&A.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial health metrics across subsidiaries to inform strategic pivots and investor updates.

Project Management

  • Support the PMO in managing active projects and initiatives across departments.
  • Implement and maintain project planning tools, templates, timelines, and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate project meetings, document action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Monitor project deliverables, deadlines, and resource allocation.
  • Help standardize project workflows and documentation practices across departments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide budget reviews and cost analysis to inform resourcing decisions.

  • Support the integration of project and financial data for reporting and analysis.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (MBA or CFA is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, consulting, investment, or impact enterprise leadership.
  • Strong background in building financial models and supporting fundraising/investor engagement.
  • Experience in both for-profit ventures and mission-driven or NGO contexts preferred.
  • PMP certification or substantial project management experience is highly desirable.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required.
  • Experience with financial software (QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and project tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
  • Strong skills in data visualization, reporting, and investor communications (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides).

Role Overview – Project Manager

  • ESSENTIAL - Extensive experience as a Project Manager for similar multi-site IT systems – ideally communication-based infrastructure
  • ESSENTIAL - Significant and demonstrable experience and success in the management and delivery of civil engineering and construction projects

Responsibilities (not exhaustive) - Project Manager

  • Work directly with and manage end customers and ICP in the field to manage and drive the project delivery plan, ensuring quality of delivery within the cost and time parameters set by the Chief Operating Officer
  • Ensure that ICP works in strict accordance to the SRT systems delivery methods, providing training and ongoing guidance and support to ensure successful installation and commissioning of the entire system

  • An Engineering and or IT networking background and / or qualification
  • Capable of understanding systems drawings down to installation design drawings (racks, servers, cameras, radar, civil work) with role being in-country conduit between in country partner/customer back to technical team and delivery director
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to diplomatically influence without authority with the ability to empathise and understand different cultures to flex approach whilst ensuring the target job is achieved
  • Willingness to travel anywhere in the world for extended periods, with the role being primarily based in country with short trips back to UK during project execution

The center is envisioned as a multifunctional space focused on strengthening local digital ecosystems and cultivating multi-stakeholder partnerships that will accelerate digital transformation by enhancing the culture, competencies, and capacities of Governments across the continent. This project, established through the signing of the MoU between UNDP Kenya and the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy (MICDE), aims to support Kenya's digital transformation by strengthening digital and AI skills development. The project is closely aligned with Kenya's National Digital Master Plan , which highlights digital skills as a key pillar for national development. Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee the integration of the RCOC curriculum into the government's existing Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it is accessible, interoperable, and user-friendly. Continuously incorporate new content and resources from ecosystem partners to enrich the learning experience;
  • Collaborate with relevant partner teams to strengthen LMS functionality and enhance the overall user experience, ensuring the platform remains responsive to the evolving needs of public servants;
  • Promote adoption and drive the scale-up of the LMS to support national training rollouts, while positioning it for future regional expansion across Africa.
  • Develop and Implement National and Regional Rollout Strategies
  • Lead the development of national and regional rollout strategies, including phased implementation plans, and capacity-building roadmaps;
  • Coordinate cascading training models to reach a large number of public servants, including Train-the-Trainer initiatives to institutionalize digital capacity building for public service;
  • Provide adaptive and agile management to address emerging implementation challenges and ensure long-term impact and sustainability.

Minimum Education Requirement:

Job Context
The Unlocking Opportunities project, a three-year project, aims to advance inclusive economic empowerment for youth with disabilities, with a strong focus on young women. Through a twin-track approach of personalised support and systemic inclusion, the program equips youth with skills, resources, and opportunities to engage meaningfully in the economy as entrepreneurs and employees. It further promotes innovation in areas such as assistive technology and digital accessibility, while working with both public and private sector actors to mainstream disability inclusion across key sectors, including agriculture, digital economy, and the creative industry.

Reporting to the Consortium Coordinator, the Project Manager is responsible for implementing HI's activities under the Unlocking Opportunity Project. S/he ensures optimal quality and the impact of the project implemented by means of a delegation system with appropriate oversight mechanisms. With all the other HI managers, the project manager shares responsibility for the sound management and effective functioning of the global organisation. S/he leads a team of officers in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the project, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality interventions that equip youth with disabilities (with a specific focus on girls and women) with business skills, link them to financial providers, and provide business kits and mentorship. S/he coordinates with partners, manages resources, tracks progress against targets, monitors budget burn rate, ensures compliance with HI and donor requirements, and fosters strong relationships with stakeholders to empower youth with disabilities in business development.

Your Mission

Mission 3: Operations Implementation
Responsibility 1: Ensure the implementation of the project, in line with the logical framework and allocated budget

  • Steer the project's intervention strategy and put forward adjustments if the objectives change or if it is likely that they will not be met.
  • Ensure that activities and the associated resources are planned and implement the action plan.
  • Ensure that activities are implemented in line with the project proposal and the allocated budget.
  • Ensure project reporting, internally (within the programme) and externally (reporting to funding bodies, authorities and/or partners) in support to the consortium coordinator if needed.
  • Undertake expenditure and manage the project activity-specific budget lines according to the delegation s/he received based on the programme signature delegation table

Responsibility 2: Ensure that project implementation complies with the existing frameworks

  • Ensure the proper implementation and follow-up of institutional policies (specifically PQP, PSEAH and Age-Gender-Disability policies) and the other HI internal standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the terms of the project proposal and the rules applied by the project funding body/bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with global technical standards and norms by communicating and involving the technical specialists and advisors with expertise in the project themes.

Responsibility 3: Ensure project monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning

  • Ensure project monitoring, specifically activity progress indicators and the expected outcomes.
  • Ensure quality implementation of the activities.
  • Develop and implement the project evaluation plan.
  • Ensure that the project is accountable to the local stakeholders (partners, authorities, local institutions and donor) including on the technical aspect of the project Ensure project learning with a focus on technical activities, taking into account lessons learned from similar previous projects, following the recommendations made throughout the project (from evaluations, support missions, audits, etc.), and capitalising and sharing on the acquired knowledge.

Responsibility 4: Ensure project data management

  • Ensure that the appropriate data collection and management tools (including technical tools) are in place on the project, in line with global standards.
  • Ensure that data related to the project is collected and compiled in the project database.
  • Carry out regular checks and make any necessary corrections to the activity database.

Responsibility 5: Coordinate the teams involved in the project

  • Facilitate coordination meetings between her/his direct team and the support services located in the area when necessary.
  • Ensure that her/his team and the support teams (shared and technical services, in particular) work well together to facilitate the implementation of the project in the country.

Responsibility 6: Contribute to external project communication

About The Role
The Project Manager for Maarifa will play a leading role in the planning and execution of the Maarifa initiative. Reporting to the Director of Innovation, this position is crucial for the successful development, launch, and scaling of SunCulture's data platform. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong interpersonal and business building skills, project management skills, a technical understanding, and a passion for social impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution: Design and execute go-to-market plans, including pricing models, distribution channel mapping, and competitor benchmarking to enable the successful rollout of the platform. Manage partnership development associates and the field team to drive growth and market integration.
  • Partnership Selection with Agribusinesses: Identify, assess, and select strategic partners, such as agribusinesses, global commodity traders, and government bodies, to secure pilot programs and align with Maarifa's goals.
  • Field Activities and Quality Standards: Oversee all field operations, including user onboarding, training, and support, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards and operational efficiency.
  • Operate as the product owner and guide product development: Provide comprehensive oversight and roadmapping for the rollout of the Maarifa platform from its initial phase to full-scale deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural business, Business Information Technology, or a closely related technical or business field.
  • Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in project management, with strong experience specifically in go-to-market strategy and market expansion in agribusinesses.

In March 2025, SunCulture partnered with TechnoServe — a non-profit economic development organization operating in 29 countries — to design a Technical Assistance (TA) package aimed at enhancing the performance of SunCulture's rural agent salesforce (Field Sales Agents, or FSAs). The goal: to accelerate growth, improve profitability, and deepen impact among smallholder farmers (SHFs).

Additional Technical Assistance is now needed to assist in piloting the solution, incorporating feedback from the field to refine and optimize the solution, and provide continued support during the nationwide rollout.

About The Role
The Project Manager will provide day to day operational support and will oversee critical activities throughout the project's implementation period. The Consultant will report jointly to SunCulture's Head of People & Culture and TechnoServe's Inclusive Business Director for Delivery. Responsible for day-to-day project management, maintaining a close working relationship with TechnoServe, and ensuring close coordination with SunCulture Management.

Key Responsibilities
Project set up and management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Technical Assistance delivery.
  • Develop a project work plan covering all deliverables.
  • Establish weekly check-ins with SunCulture and Technoserve team members to ensure activities are on track.
  • Support Technoserve in managing and developing content for Steering Committee meetings with SunCulture senior management and partner investors.
  • Submit monthly progress reports on activities completed, challenges, risks and KPIs achieved.

Pilot management and coordination

  • Oversee day-to-day project activities, including hands-on coaching of Team Leads and Field Sales Agents, monitoring the support provided by Regional Training Teams, and assessing the effectiveness of newly implemented sales and training material (including e-Learnings).
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (training, sales, marketing, field engineers, etc.) to ensure effective implementation.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet project needs and adjust plans as necessary
  • Maintain consistent communication with SunCulture management and the Technoserve team to keep them informed of progress and challenges.
  • Pilot monitoring & evaluation
  • Coordinate ongoing pilot analysis to generate insights for continuous refinement of the model, ensuring responsiveness to pilot outcomes and enabling timely course corrections
  • Manage the effectiveness of the digital learning component ) by providing feedback to the Curriculum and Training Advisor, identifying what's working and what isn't, and making improvement recommendations to SunCulture management and the Curriculum Training Advisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with at least five years of business or project management in a similar context.
  • Advanced degree in business management or other relevant field preferred.
  • Proven experience managing pilot projects or other complex, short-term initiatives
  • Experience supporting organisations establishing high-performing salesforce preferred
  • Experience supporting introduction of digital learning platforms preferred
  • Experience supporting organisations or sales agents adopt productivity improvement techniques preferred
