Job Description
Your responsibilities will include leading the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept generation and feasibility studies to detailed design, analysis, and validation. You will utilize state-of-the-art CAD/CAE software to create complex 3D models, perform stress analysis, thermal simulations, and dynamic behavior assessments. Developing comprehensive design documentation, including detailed drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing specifications, will be a key part of your role. Furthermore, you will be responsible for troubleshooting design issues, providing technical guidance to manufacturing teams, and ensuring that designs meet stringent performance, safety, and cost requirements.
This is a fully remote position, demanding exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. You will mentor junior engineers, foster a collaborative remote work environment, and effectively manage project timelines and deliverables. The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical foundation in mechanical engineering principles, coupled with extensive practical experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA). Experience with automation, robotics, or specialized manufacturing equipment is highly desirable. A proactive mindset, a passion for innovation, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are essential for success in this dynamic role.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. PhD is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a focus on product development and advanced manufacturing.
- Expert proficiency in advanced 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor) and FEA/CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Demonstrated experience leading design projects from concept to production.
- Strong knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, additive manufacturing, injection molding), and tolerances.
- Experience with mechatronics, robotics, or automation systems is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Superb communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities, particularly in managing remote engineering teams.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a virtual setting.
