Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed geotechnical investigations and analyses for open-pit and underground mining projects.
- Conduct stability analyses of mine slopes, excavations, and underground openings using advanced numerical modeling software (e.g., FLAC, RocData, Maptek Vulcan).
- Develop and recommend appropriate ground support systems and reinforcement strategies.
- Assess and manage geotechnical risks associated with mining operations, including seismic activity, faulting, and groundwater ingress.
- Review and interpret geological and geotechnical data, including borehole logs, laboratory test results, and field measurements.
- Contribute to the development of mine design and planning, ensuring geotechnical considerations are integrated.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, technical memoranda, and presentations for project stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with mine planning engineers, geologists, and operations personnel to provide timely and practical geotechnical advice.
