Our client, a leading provider of advanced industrial equipment, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Field Service Technician to join their innovative remote operations center. This unique role focuses on coordinating and supporting field service activities from a remote location, serving as a crucial link between on-site technicians and the central engineering team. You will be responsible for remotely diagnosing complex technical issues, guiding field technicians through intricate repair procedures, and ensuring the efficient resolution of equipment malfunctions. The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, coupled with exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and diagnostic data. Experience with remote diagnostic tools, video conferencing, and a strong ability to communicate technical instructions clearly and concisely are paramount. You will work closely with a global team of engineers and technicians, contributing to the uptime and performance of critical machinery for clients in various sectors. This role requires a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a dedication to providing unparalleled remote technical support. While the role is remote and offers flexibility, it is linked to supporting critical operations in areas including **Naivasha, Nakuru, KE**, and requires a commitment to ensuring maximum operational efficiency for our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert remote technical support to field service technicians for complex equipment installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Remotely diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Guide field technicians through step-by-step troubleshooting procedures via phone, video, and remote access platforms.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic reports to provide accurate solutions.
  • Escalate complex issues to engineering or product specialists when necessary.
  • Document all remote support interactions, including problem descriptions, solutions provided, and resolution times.
  • Contribute to the development of remote support protocols, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Monitor equipment performance data and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Assist with the planning and scheduling of remote diagnostic and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company procedures in all remote support operations.
Qualifications:
  • Technician certification or Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in field service, installation, maintenance, or repair of industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and specialized testing tools.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
  • Experience with remote support technologies (e.g., TeamViewer, remote desktop, video conferencing) is essential.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple support requests, and thrive in a remote work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a specific industry relevant to the client's equipment (e.g., manufacturing, automation, heavy machinery) is highly preferred.
