Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce platform, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Supply Chain Operations Manager to oversee their fulfillment and logistics operations. This is a pivotal, fully remote role, allowing you to drive operational excellence from anywhere in Kenya. You will be responsible for optimizing inventory management, warehouse efficiency, transportation networks, and last-mile delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement robust supply chain strategies to support e-commerce growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring adherence to strict quality and efficiency standards.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and stock optimization initiatives to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), carriers, and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and service reliability.
  • Implement and leverage technology solutions (WMS, TMS, ERP) to streamline operations, improve visibility, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the supply chain, reporting on performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, labor laws, and environmental standards within the operational framework.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain integration.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements throughout the supply chain network.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management, with a strong emphasis on e-commerce fulfillment.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale warehouse operations and a distributed logistics network.
  • In-depth knowledge of WMS, TMS, and ERP systems, with a demonstrated ability to implement and optimize these technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in managing and developing diverse teams remotely.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
This critical remote position, servicing the Ruiru, Kiambu, KE region and beyond, requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to operational excellence. Your expertise will be vital in building a scalable and efficient supply chain that meets the demands of a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
