Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Optimization Engineer to join their dynamic, remote-first team. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, innovation, and sustainability across our diverse chemical processes. You will be instrumental in analyzing complex chemical systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and separation processes. Your expertise will be crucial in designing and optimizing new processes as well as enhancing existing ones to meet stringent safety and environmental standards.

- Develop and implement process improvements and optimization strategies using advanced simulation software and statistical analysis techniques.
- Design and scale-up new chemical processes, ensuring feasibility, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to ensure seamless integration of process changes.
- Lead root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in chemical engineering.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and project documentation for management and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Ensure all process designs and modifications comply with relevant regulatory requirements and environmental policies.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical industry.
- Proven track record in process design, simulation (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and optimization.
- Strong understanding of process control systems and instrumentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate in a remote environment.
- Experience with project management methodologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with HAZOP studies and safety protocols is essential.
- Must be highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
