Key Responsibilities:
- Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive electronic control units (ECUs) and complex vehicle systems.
- Lead the technical design and development of software components, adhering to automotive standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262).
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers to translate requirements into architectural specifications.
- Ensure the software architecture supports key automotive functions such as infotainment, driver assistance systems (ADAS), powertrain control, and connectivity.
- Evaluate and select appropriate software technologies, frameworks, and tools for automotive development.
- Develop strategies for software integration, testing, validation, and deployment.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams, fostering best practices in coding, testing, and documentation.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks within the software architecture.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in automotive software, including AI/ML, cybersecurity, and connected vehicle platforms.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies.
- Champion the principles of safety-critical software development and cybersecurity within the architecture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years focused on automotive software architecture.
- Deep understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS) commonly used in automotive applications.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and experience with software design patterns.
- Expertise in automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, MISRA C).
- Strong knowledge of automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with software development tools, including version control (Git), build systems, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams in a remote setting.
- Experience with Model-Based Design (MBD) is a plus.
