Our client is a rapidly growing technology firm seeking a highly skilled and visionary Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to drive their cloud infrastructure strategy. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to contribute to cutting-edge projects from any location within Kenya. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions across major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Your responsibilities will include architecting cloud environments, defining best practices for cloud adoption, and leading a team of cloud engineers in the implementation and maintenance of these solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud computing principles, microservices architecture, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to translate business requirements into robust technical designs. The Lead Cloud Solutions Architect will also be responsible for evaluating emerging cloud technologies, conducting proof-of-concepts, and providing technical leadership to ensure optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and security of cloud deployments. A key aspect of this role involves defining and enforcing architectural standards, governance, and compliance within the cloud environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architectures.
  • Lead the development and execution of cloud migration strategies.
  • Define and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance policies.
  • Architect solutions leveraging microservices, containerization, and serverless technologies.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployments.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies.
  • Optimize cloud resource utilization for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and document cloud architecture standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in designing and implementing cloud solutions on major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Expertise in cloud-native technologies, microservices, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and database technologies in a cloud context.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
