Our client, a prominent mining and exploration company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geologist to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical for identifying and evaluating potential mineral deposits, conducting geological surveys, and performing resource estimations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of geological principles, exploration techniques, and mineralization styles, coupled with strong analytical and data interpretation skills. You will be responsible for analyzing geological data, developing exploration strategies, and contributing to the overall success of our resource development initiatives. Your expertise will guide our exploration efforts, ensuring we target promising areas for future mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze geological data from various sources, including core logging, geophysical surveys, and geochemical sampling.
  • Develop and implement exploration programs for identifying new mineral deposits.
  • Conduct geological mapping and structural analysis to understand subsurface geology.
  • Perform resource estimation and modeling using industry-standard software.
  • Interpret geological models to define targets for drilling and sampling.
  • Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and mining engineers to integrate data and optimize exploration strategies.
  • Prepare detailed geological reports, technical memorandums, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in geological fieldwork, data management, and reporting.
  • Assess and manage geological risks associated with exploration projects.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in geological techniques, exploration technologies, and mineral economics.
  • Contribute to the geological interpretation and validation of drill core and other geological samples.
  • Support the development and implementation of exploration budgets and schedules.
  • This position is fully remote, with primary company operations and strategic focus on the mining region near Machakos, Machakos, KE .

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral exploration geology.
  • Proven experience in resource estimation and geological modeling.
  • Strong understanding of mineralization styles, structural geology, and petrology relevant to various commodities.
  • Proficiency with geological software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac) and GIS platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience in designing and supervising exploration drilling programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex geological information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations in mining exploration.
