  • Mentor junior scientists and research associates, providing guidance on experimental design, execution, and data analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant ethical guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related life science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of post-doctoral research experience with a strong focus on genomics.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and executing complex genomic experiments and analyzing large datasets.
  • Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for genomic data analysis (e.g., GATK, Samtools, R, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with various next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms and library preparation kits.
  • Excellent understanding of human genetics, molecular mechanisms of disease, and current therapeutic strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts.
  • A passion for scientific discovery and a commitment to advancing human health.
  • This is a fully remote position, requiring a self-disciplined individual with a dedicated home office environment and reliable high-speed internet access. The specific geographic location for this role is flexible within Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, KE , and the broader remote work infrastructure supports effective collaboration across distances.
