Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in power systems to join their remote engineering team. This is a 100% remote position, requiring a seasoned professional to lead the design and development of complex electrical systems for various applications. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the implementation of power distribution, generation, and control systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. This role demands a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, proficiency with design software, and excellent problem-solving skills, all within a remote work environment. Your contributions will be critical to the successful execution of our client's innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical power systems, including distribution networks, substations, generation facilities, and control systems.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP).
  • Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit studies.
  • Select appropriate electrical equipment, components, and materials for various applications.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans.
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new electrical installations.
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries during project execution.
  • Develop specifications for electrical equipment procurement.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior electrical engineers.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in power system technologies and electrical engineering practices.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions during design and construction phases.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for electrical design projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent professional license is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on power systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Revit MEP).
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, protection, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind) is an advantage.
