You will be a trusted advisor, working on a consultancy basis to address challenging engineering problems for a diverse range of clients across various industries, including utilities, industrial facilities, and renewable energy. Your role will involve analyzing existing power systems, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending optimal upgrades or redesigns. You will be responsible for the design, specification, and oversight of high-voltage transmission and distribution systems, substations, and power generation facilities. Expertise in power flow analysis, short circuit calculations, protection coordination, and fault analysis is essential. The candidate should be adept at utilizing industry-standard simulation software and modeling tools to predict system behavior and optimize performance. Developing comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies, and project proposals will be a significant part of your duties. You will also mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your extensive knowledge and best practices. This role demands exceptional problem-solving abilities, a strong understanding of electrical codes and standards, and the capacity to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability, efficiency, and safety of critical power infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert consultancy on electrical power systems design, analysis, and implementation.
  • Conduct detailed studies including load flow, transient stability, short circuit, and protection coordination analysis.
  • Design and specify components for high-voltage power systems, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
  • Develop technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
  • Evaluate and recommend advanced technologies and solutions for power system modernization and optimization.
  • Oversee the testing and commissioning of power system equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international electrical engineering standards and codes.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive technical reports and proposals to clients.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical engineering challenges.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent international accreditation.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PowerWorld).
  • In-depth knowledge of power system protection, control, and automation.
  • Experience with renewable energy integration and grid modernization projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC), and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and client management abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead technical projects in a remote setting.
