Applicants must demonstrate the ability to develop a vibrant, externally funded research program, along with an equal commitment to outstanding teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. VUBME exists at both the scientific and geographic boundary of Vanderbilt's engineering and clinical departments of its renowned medical center, making it an ideal location for engineering research at the interface of technology and medicine. Ideal candidates should possess: a doctorate degree in biomedical engineering or closely related fields of science and engineering, a record of scholarly and research achievement appropriate for their current level, strong record of high-impact research, a commitment to high-quality instruction in biomedical engineering and interest in advancing education programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, an ability to lead a research program with a dedication to inclusive community building, and an interest in collaboration across engineering and with basic science and clinical disciplines.

The role of Engineering Technician will involve but is not limited to:
- Supporting Lecturers in various delivery, including Fabrication and Welding, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electrical Installation.
- Preparing materials for practical sessions.
- Ordering of materials and stock monitoring / rotation.
- Checking deliveries and taking responsibility for storing.
- Disposal of waste materials into skips and arranging collection.
- Basic maintenance of machinery (training provided if required).
- Security of storage containers and other storage areas.
- Security of loading bay and other related areas.
- Organising external maintenance companies for regular visits.
- Some supervision of learners / external visitors on occasion.
Our Successful Candidate Will Have/be The Following
- Knowledge of relevant codes of practice and awareness of current health and safety regulations and relevant legislation.
