Job Description
Our client is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage their general ledger operations. This is a hybrid role, requiring a combination of remote work and periodic on-site presence. You will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of financial records, performing account reconciliations, assisting with financial statement preparation, and supporting month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is proficient in accounting principles and software, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of financial reporting.

- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Perform timely and accurate account reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Process journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support during audits.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
- Help identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function.
- Maintain financial filing systems and records.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth accounting operations.
- Stay informed about relevant accounting standards and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably with general ledger responsibilities.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing tasks efficiently in a hybrid work environment.
- Eagerness to learn and develop accounting skills.
