Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical system design for complex projects, including power generation, distribution, protection, and control systems.
- Perform detailed power system studies, including load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, transient stability analysis, and protection coordination.
- Develop engineering specifications, design drawings (e.g., single-line diagrams, schematics), and P&IDs for electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, local electrical codes), and project-specific requirements.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level electrical engineers.
- Review and approve design documents, calculations, and reports prepared by the engineering team.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and construction personnel to ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather project-specific data and verify existing conditions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical power systems during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering technologies, including power electronics, smart grids, and renewable energy integration.
- Develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Contribute to business development efforts by assisting with proposal preparation and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical power system design and analysis.
- Proven expertise in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DigSILENT PowerFactory, SKM PowerTools).
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with a variety of electrical systems, including medium and high voltage distribution, substation design, and motor control centers.
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing technical aspects of projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
- Experience with renewable energy integration and energy storage systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
