Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to support business objectives.
- Oversee and manage all transportation activities, including carrier selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
- Optimize warehousing operations, including inventory management, storage, and order fulfillment.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and other supply chain partners.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards for transportation and warehousing.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations and report on performance to senior management.
- Lead and mentor a remote team of logistics coordinators and specialists.
- Implement and manage supply chain technologies, such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Collaborate with internal departments (procurement, sales, operations) to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
- Plan and manage inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong emphasis on logistics and transportation.
- Proven experience in managing warehousing operations and inventory control.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with carriers and 3PL providers.
- Proficiency in using WMS, TMS, and other supply chain software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing remote teams is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of international trade and customs regulations is a plus.
- APICS or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
