Our client, a prominent entity in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Solar Farm Operations Manager. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to manage operations from anywhere while ensuring the optimal performance of our solar energy facilities. The role demands a strong technical background in solar power systems, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in managing large-scale operational sites. You will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our solar farms.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or equivalent advanced technical qualification is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of experience in the operations and maintenance of large-scale solar power plants is required. Proven experience with performance monitoring, predictive maintenance, and SCADA systems is essential. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are paramount. Familiarity with grid interconnection standards and regulations in Kenya is a significant advantage. This remote role requires a proactive and results-oriented individual capable of managing complex operational environments, contributing to sustainable energy solutions in regions like Garissa, Garissa, KE and across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of multiple solar power plants.
- Develop and implement O&M strategies to maximize energy production and minimize downtime.
- Manage budgets for operations, maintenance, and capital expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and contractual obligations.
- Lead and mentor the on-site operations and maintenance teams.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for new project integration and upgrades.
- Monitor system performance using SCADA and other monitoring tools, identifying and resolving any anomalies.
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers for maintenance and repairs.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
- Prepare detailed operational reports for senior management.
