Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Improvement Engineer specializing in Lean Manufacturing principles to join our fully remote operations team. This crucial role is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing production processes across our diverse manufacturing facilities. You will lead initiatives to identify bottlenecks, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement, all while working remotely and collaborating with teams on-site. This position requires a deep understanding of Lean methodologies, statistical process control, and a proven ability to implement transformative changes in a complex industrial environment.
Key responsibilities include analyzing existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement using Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies. You will design and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, minimize defects, lower costs, and enhance overall productivity. Developing and deploying standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality will be a core function. You will also be responsible for training and mentoring plant personnel on Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.
Collecting and analyzing production data to monitor process performance, identify trends, and measure the impact of implemented improvements will be essential. You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of process changes. Developing business cases for improvement projects, including cost-benefit analyses, and presenting recommendations to management will be a key part of the role. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, and a proven ability to lead change initiatives in a virtual and collaborative setting. Proficiency with simulation software, statistical analysis tools, and project management methodologies is required.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly desirable. A minimum of 7 years of experience in process improvement, Lean manufacturing, or operational excellence roles within a manufacturing environment is required. Proven experience in successfully leading cross-functional teams and implementing Lean initiatives that result in significant cost savings and efficiency gains is essential. Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills are critical for effective remote engagement and driving improvements across distributed operations.
