Our client, a renowned automotive manufacturer known for its commitment to innovation and performance, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in automotive systems. This is a crucial fully remote position, enabling you to contribute to cutting-edge vehicle development from your home office. You will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of complex mechanical components and systems for next-generation vehicles. Your role will involve conceptualizing new designs, creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software, and performing advanced simulations (FEA, CFD) to optimize performance, durability, and manufacturability. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure seamless integration and project success. You will also be involved in prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting designs, as well as providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 7 years of progressive experience in automotive mechanical design. Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) is mandatory. A strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and vehicle dynamics is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and exceptional communication and collaboration capabilities are required for effective remote work.
