Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Geologist to lead mineral exploration initiatives. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery and evaluation of valuable mineral resources. The role involves planning and executing geological surveys, interpreting geophysical and geochemical data, and managing exploration projects from inception to resource definition. You will be responsible for developing exploration strategies, identifying promising target areas, and conducting detailed geological mapping and sampling programs. Proficiency in geological software for data analysis, modeling, and visualization is essential. Responsibilities include conducting drill core logging and analysis, estimating mineral resources using industry-standard software, and preparing technical reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. You will also collaborate with mining engineers and other specialists to assess the economic viability of discovered deposits. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology or a related earth science discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral exploration, preferably in roles focused on gold, base metals, or industrial minerals. Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and mineral deposit types is required. Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) and 3D geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Datamine) is crucial. This remote role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary for report writing and presenting findings. This role is critical for identifying and evaluating new mineral resource opportunities. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of geological principles, exploration techniques, and data analysis to guide exploration programs and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in structural geology, economic geology, and exploration geochemistry, with a proven ability to manage exploration projects from conception through to resource delineation. You will work closely with geoscientific teams, manage consultants, and interpret complex geological data sets. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing comprehensive mineral exploration strategies and programs.
- Analyzing geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify and prioritize exploration targets.
