Our client, a distinguished firm specializing in advanced building systems and sustainable design, is seeking an accomplished Remote Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. This is a full-time, remote position that offers the opportunity to lead the design and development of innovative HVAC solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building science, coupled with proficiency in industry-standard design software. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the implementation of energy-efficient and effective HVAC systems that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.

- Perform energy modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and minimize energy consumption.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE), and project specifications.
- Collaborate closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and tender documents.
- Conduct site visits (if required and feasible within remote guidelines) and provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues that may arise during project execution.
- Mentor junior mechanical engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies, trends, and sustainable design practices.
- Review and approve submittals from contractors.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HVAC system design and engineering.
- Proven expertise in load calculation, system design, and equipment selection for various building types.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, TRACE 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building science principles.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy efficiency strategies.
