Our client, a leading online retailer, is seeking a strategic and data-driven Senior E-commerce Category Manager to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to drive category growth and optimize online product offerings from anywhere in Kenya. You will be responsible for managing a specific product category, encompassing assortment planning, merchandising, pricing strategies, promotion execution, and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, consumer behavior, and market trends within their assigned category. You will leverage data analytics to identify opportunities, maximize sales, improve conversion rates, and enhance the overall customer experience. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential for success in this dynamic role. You will work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to achieve ambitious sales targets and ensure the category's profitability.

- Optimize product assortment, merchandising, and content to enhance the customer shopping experience and drive conversions.
- Develop and implement effective pricing and promotional strategies in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and optimal product availability.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
- Monitor category performance against key metrics (sales, margin, conversion rate, customer satisfaction) and take corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute effective online campaigns and ensure brand consistency.
- Stay informed about e-commerce trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in category management.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding category performance and future strategies.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and ensure strong partnership alignment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, category management, or a related role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing online product categories.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in e-commerce platforms, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and CRM software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective pricing and merchandising strategies.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and customer acquisition strategies.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Experience with inventory management and supply chain principles.
