Our client, a global innovator in specialty chemicals, is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Remote Process Engineer to optimize and advance their chemical manufacturing operations. This role is vital for designing, implementing, and improving chemical processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. You will analyze production data, troubleshoot operational issues, and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. This is a fully remote position, demanding strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with plant personnel and cross-functional teams through virtual channels.

- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for process operation and control.
- Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
- Collaborate with R&D teams on process scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial production.
- Manage process improvement projects, from initiation to completion, including budget and timeline management.
- Provide technical support and training to plant operations personnel.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies to enhance process capabilities.
- Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety measures.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for process operations and report on findings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement culture within the organization.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction kinetics.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in chemical manufacturing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for remote interaction with plant teams.
- Ability to manage projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
