- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design integration.
- Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Oversee prototype development and testing, analyzing results to identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement design modifications.
- Research and recommend new materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and performance requirements.
- Document design processes, test results, and technical specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a specialization in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360).
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations.
