Job Description
Key responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), analyzing sensor data, and utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment and software to identify root causes of vehicle malfunctions. You will provide clear, concise, and actionable guidance to technicians on-site, ensuring they have the information needed to perform repairs effectively. This involves extensive research using technical service bulletins (TSBs), repair manuals, and manufacturer databases. You will also contribute to the development of diagnostic strategies and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with automotive repair and diagnostics, particularly with complex electronic and mechanical systems. Strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel are essential. Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and automotive software is required. Familiarity with electric and hybrid vehicle systems is a significant advantage.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent certification in Automotive Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, with a strong emphasis on diagnostics.
- ASE certifications (e.g., A6, A7, A8, L1, L3) are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, and HVAC.
- Proficiency with advanced diagnostic scanners and software (e.g., Snap-on, Autel, manufacturer-specific tools).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical procedures clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle technology is a strong plus.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with automotive advancements.
