This senior role is responsible for the comprehensive analysis, modeling, and management of geothermal reservoirs to optimize energy production and ensure long-term sustainability. You will leverage advanced simulation techniques, well testing analysis, and geological data to develop reservoir development strategies, forecast production, and identify new exploration opportunities. Your deep expertise will guide the effective utilization of Earth's heat resources.
Key responsibilities include:
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related geoscience discipline, with a specialization in reservoir engineering. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geothermal reservoir engineering or related fields (e.g., oil and gas reservoir engineering) is mandatory. Proven experience with geothermal reservoir simulation software (e.g., TOUGH2, FEFLOW, CMG) is essential. Strong understanding of geostatistics, fluid flow in porous media, and thermodynamics is required. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration in this remote role, supporting projects that may involve exploration and development activities near Kericho, Kericho, KE and other global locations. The ability to work independently and lead complex technical initiatives is paramount.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting detailed geological and petrophysical analysis of geothermal reservoirs.
- Developing and maintaining advanced 3D reservoir models using industry-standard simulation software.
- Forecasting geothermal fluid production, temperature changes, and pressure dynamics over time.
- Designing and optimizing well drilling and completion strategies for optimal reservoir performance.
- Analyzing well test data and production data to assess reservoir characteristics and productivity.
- Identifying and evaluating potential geothermal exploration targets.
