Job Description
Our client is seeking a distinguished Principal Electrical Engineer with extensive expertise in power systems. This is a fully remote leadership role, allowing you to drive critical power system design and strategy from your home office. You will be responsible for leading the development of complex electrical infrastructure, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. The role demands a deep understanding of power generation, distribution, and protection, along with strong leadership and project management capabilities. You will mentor junior engineers, oversee design integrity, and contribute significantly to high-impact projects.

- Lead the design and development of large-scale power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.
- Perform advanced analysis of power flow, stability, and fault studies.
- Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment and components.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Oversee the project lifecycle from concept development through to commissioning and operation.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Review and approve electrical designs and calculations.
- Stay abreast of emerging power system technologies and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to power systems.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Expertise in renewable energy integration, grid modernization, and high-voltage engineering is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a significant asset.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders remotely.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple complex projects, and deliver exceptional results in a remote setting.
- Strong understanding of project management principles.
