Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and workflows to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production activities.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality control, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes and products.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process changes or new technologies.
- Oversee the implementation of automation and new equipment, ensuring proper integration and performance.
- Develop and deliver training to production staff on new processes and equipment.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all process changes, improvements, and technical specifications.
- Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all process designs.
- Participate in the design and layout of manufacturing facilities and production lines.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement preventive measures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing operations, or a similar role.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, and control systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process simulation software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Experience with CAD software and production planning tools is desirable.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is advantageous.
This is a fully remote position, ideal for a candidate who can effectively contribute to manufacturing excellence remotely, supporting operations that impact the Mlolongo, Machakos, KE production facilities and other sites.
