- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers, throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and test plans.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanical engineers.
- Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical design technologies, automotive trends, and relevant industry standards.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on automotive components.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).
- Strong experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for structural and thermal analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, stamping), and GD&T.
- Excellent understanding of automotive systems and vehicle dynamics.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration.
