Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design process for new projects and upgrades, from initial concept to final implementation.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, power distribution designs, and control system designs.
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, short circuit studies, and arc flash hazard analysis.
- Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and construction personnel, to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Oversee the creation and review of design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and design staff.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues during construction and commissioning phases, providing effective solutions.
- Manage project timelines and budgets related to electrical design activities.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as required, particularly during critical project phases.
- Stay abreast of emerging electrical engineering technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional registration is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong focus on system design.
- Proven experience in designing electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of power systems, control systems, instrumentation, and relevant codes and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design tasks concurrently and meet project deadlines.
