Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer specializing in power systems for a fully remote position. This is a leadership role where you will be responsible for the design, development, and oversight of complex electrical power systems for a variety of projects. You will lead a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring the successful execution of design tasks from concept through to completion. Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing power distribution systems, designing electrical schematics, selecting appropriate components and equipment, and ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. You will perform power system analysis, including load calculations, short circuit studies, and protection coordination. This role requires extensive experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, PSS/E) and a deep understanding of low, medium, and high voltage systems. You will also be involved in project management aspects, including resource allocation, budget monitoring, and client communication. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and effective solutions. As this is a fully remote position, you must possess excellent communication skills, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage and motivate a distributed engineering team effectively. Self-discipline, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently are crucial. This position is associated with our operations in Meru, Meru, KE , but offers complete remote flexibility. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems design, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role, is essential.
