Our client, a leading entity in the mining sector, is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Chief Geologist to spearhead their geological exploration and resource evaluation efforts. This is a critical, senior-level position that requires extensive experience in mineral exploration, geological modeling, and resource estimation. The role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from any location. The Chief Geologist will play a pivotal role in identifying and assessing new mineral prospects, optimizing existing mining operations through detailed geological understanding, and ensuring the sustainable and responsible extraction of resources.

- Manage budgets for geological programs and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Supervise and mentor junior geologists and technical staff, fostering a culture of scientific excellence.
- Collaborate with mine planning engineers to optimize mine design and production based on geological insights.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geological exploration technologies and methodologies.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration and resource geology, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven expertise in structural geology, stratigraphy, mineral systems, and geological mapping.
- Extensive experience with geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, Vulcan) and resource estimation techniques.
- Strong understanding of various deposit types and exploration methods relevant to the company's target commodities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams in a remote setting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel as required for site visits (though the role is primarily remote).
- Membership in relevant professional geological societies is highly regarded.
