Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced Remote Instructional Design Lead to spearhead the development of engaging and effective online learning experiences. This role is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within Kenya. You will lead a team of instructional designers, curriculum developers, and subject matter experts to create high-quality educational content for a diverse range of learners and subjects. This position requires a deep understanding of adult learning principles, various e-learning modalities, and cutting-edge instructional technologies. You will be instrumental in shaping our client's digital learning strategy and ensuring the highest standards of pedagogical practice.

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative online courses and learning modules across various disciplines.
- Manage and mentor a team of instructional designers, providing guidance on learning theories, design principles, and tool utilization.
- Oversee the entire e-learning development lifecycle, from needs analysis and concept development to final deployment and evaluation.
- Ensure all learning content is aligned with learning objectives, adheres to quality standards, and meets the needs of target audiences.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate complex information into accessible and engaging learning materials.
- Utilize a variety of authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Vyond) and learning management systems (LMS) to create interactive and multimedia-rich content.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments and performance gap analyses to identify learning requirements.
- Develop and implement evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning programs and make data-driven improvements.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design, e-learning, and educational technology.
- Facilitate online workshops and training sessions for both learners and internal teams.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Champion best practices in accessibility (WCAG) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the instructional design team.
- Provide constructive feedback to team members and stakeholders to enhance learning outcomes.
- Contribute to the strategic vision for online education and professional development programs.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in instructional design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience in leading and managing remote teams.
- Expertise in adult learning theories (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy) and instructional design models.
- Proficiency with industry-standard e-learning authoring tools and multimedia development software.
- Strong understanding of learning management systems (LMS) administration and best practices.
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze learning needs and design effective, engaging learning solutions.
- Experience in curriculum development for diverse subject areas and learner populations.
- Portfolio showcasing successful e-learning projects.
