We are seeking a Workshop Technical Manager to lead the maintenance and operations of optical machinery and equipment across our workshop and branches. This role involves managing both mechanical and electrical repairs, coordinating installations, and ensuring optimal machine performance in glazing, surfacing, eye testing, and other production areas.
You will be instrumental in equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and supporting day-to-day workshop activities including lens glazing, surfacing, tinting, and minor repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the maintenance, servicing, repairs, and installation of workshop and branch equipment.
Diagnose and resolve equipment faults with speed and accuracy.
Communicate with suppliers for technical support and urgent spare part sourcing, including price and timeline negotiations.
Maintain detailed service history records and enforce compliance in maintenance procedures.
Develop machine ranking and maintenance strategies.
Support glazing and surfacing operations in the lab as needed.
Train team members and machine operators on correct usage and best practices.
Must-Have Qualifications & Skills
Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Proven hands-on experience in troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and repairs.
Ability to read technical and electrical drawings, machine manuals, and installation guides.
Familiarity with basic electrical tools (multimeter, clamp meter, etc.).
Skilled in soldering and electrical fault troubleshooting.
Strong communication skills across different platforms (in-person, email, WhatsApp, video call).

Must have supervised at least one team member for one year.
