Job Description
As an Avionics Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of all aircraft electrical and electronic systems. This includes, but is not limited to, navigation systems, communication equipment, autopilot systems, radar, flight control systems, and aircraft instrumentation. You will meticulously follow manufacturer manuals, service bulletins, and company procedures to maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft avionics systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in complex electronic and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Install new avionics equipment and modify existing systems as required.
- Conduct comprehensive system tests and functional checks post-repair or installation.
- Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance performed, including parts used and time spent.
- Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance procedures and reduce downtime.

- Certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician (CAT) with a specialization in Avionics, or equivalent recognized aviation maintenance certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with a variety of aircraft types, with a strong emphasis on modern avionics systems.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft electrical principles, electronic circuitry, and digital systems.
- Proficiency in using specialized avionics diagnostic equipment and software.
- Familiarity with relevant aviation authorities' regulations (e.g., Kenya Civil Aviation Authority).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Physical ability to perform tasks at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
