Our client, a leading pharmaceutical innovator, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Pharmaceutical Development Scientist specializing in drug formulation to join their esteemed, fully remote team. This critical role will drive the development of novel and effective drug delivery systems, from pre-clinical stages through to clinical trials. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in pharmaceutical sciences, formulation development, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.

- Lead the design, development, and optimization of drug formulations for various therapeutic areas, ensuring bioavailability, stability, and efficacy.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for characterizing drug products and raw materials.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
- Scale up formulation processes from laboratory bench to pilot scale and support technology transfer to manufacturing.
- Design and execute experimental plans to investigate critical process parameters and their impact on product quality.
- Collaborate closely with internal R&D teams, including medicinal chemistry, biology, and clinical development, as well as external partners.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, development summaries, and regulatory submission documents (e.g., IND, NDA).
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in drug delivery technologies, excipients, and formulation science.
- Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing challenges, implementing effective solutions.
- Ensure all development activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the scientific leadership of the formulation development group.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Proven track record in developing various dosage forms (e.g., oral solid dosage, injectables, topical).
- Extensive experience with analytical techniques relevant to pharmaceutical characterization (e.g., HPLC, GC, dissolution testing, particle size analysis).
- Strong understanding of drug product stability, excipient functionality, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (FDA, EMA) for drug development.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and experimental design skills.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional, remote team.
- Experience with preclinical and clinical formulation support is highly desirable.
