Our client, a renowned engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Geotechnical Design to join their fully remote technical team. This role involves leading the design and analysis of foundational systems for a variety of complex projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, safety, and efficiency of structures by applying advanced geotechnical principles. This position operates on a remote-first basis, requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed engineering teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the geotechnical investigation and analysis for diverse infrastructure and building projects.
  • Design foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other earth-supporting structures.
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including site investigation plans, analysis, and design recommendations.
  • Perform advanced numerical modeling and simulations for soil-structure interaction.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Review and approve designs prepared by junior engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, other engineering disciplines, and clients.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on geotechnical matters throughout project lifecycles.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
  • Contribute to the development of new methodologies and technologies within the firm.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical design and analysis.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W, SEEP/W.
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
  • Experience in managing geotechnical aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong report writing and technical presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage projects in a remote environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse, distributed teams.
