  • Troubleshoot production issues and identify innovative solutions for common CEA challenges.
  • Collaborate with technology providers and engineering teams to implement and test new equipment and systems.
  • Develop comprehensive growing protocols and standard operating procedures for CEA operations.
  • Stay updated on the latest scientific advancements and industry trends in horticulture and CEA.
  • Prepare research reports, technical publications, and presentations for stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • PhD or Master's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or a closely related field with a specialization in CEA.
  • Minimum of 6 years of research and development experience in horticultural science, with a significant focus on CEA.
  • Proven expertise in hydroponics, aeroponics, plant nutrition, and environmental control systems.
  • Strong understanding of plant physiology and crop response to environmental factors.
  • Excellent analytical and statistical skills, with proficiency in data analysis software.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and conduct rigorous scientific experiments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with the agricultural sector in Kenya, particularly the potential for CEA in regions like Embu, Embu, KE , is beneficial, though the role is remote.
