Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Project Director to lead significant construction management projects within the Machakos, Machakos, KE region. This role operates on a hybrid basis, offering a blend of on-site project oversight and remote strategic planning.
As a Project Director, you will be responsible for the overall success of multiple large-scale construction projects, from initial feasibility and planning through to completion and handover. This includes developing strategic project plans, managing extensive budgets and resources, and ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. You will lead and mentor project teams, foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and drive the successful execution of project objectives.
Key duties will involve overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle, including procurement, contract negotiation, risk management, and quality assurance. You will provide expert guidance on construction methodologies, safety regulations, and best practices. Proactive identification and mitigation of project risks, management of change orders, and ensuring client satisfaction will be paramount. You will also be responsible for reporting on project progress, financial performance, and potential challenges to senior management.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree and/or a PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successfully directing complex and high-value projects, is mandatory. Strong leadership, strategic planning, financial acumen, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are critical. Experience with various project delivery methods and a deep understanding of construction law and contract management are essential. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment is crucial.
