You will be expected to lead research initiatives from conception through to publication or patent application, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams of chemists, biologists, and clinicians. Responsibilities include developing research protocols, troubleshooting experimental issues, managing laboratory resources, and staying current with the latest scientific literature and technological advancements. A proven ability to secure research funding through grant writing is highly desirable. The Lead Research Scientist will play a key role in mentoring and guiding junior researchers, fostering a collaborative and productive scientific environment. This position involves a hybrid work model, offering flexibility while ensuring essential on-site laboratory work and team collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, conduct, and interpret complex experiments in molecular biology.
  • Lead research projects focused on identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets.
  • Develop and optimize advanced molecular biology techniques and protocols.
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets using bioinformatics tools and statistical methods.
  • Mentor and supervise junior research scientists and technicians.
  • Write and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Prepare and present research findings at scientific conferences.
  • Contribute to grant writing and secure external funding for research projects.
  • Manage laboratory equipment, supplies, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional research and development teams.
  • Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in molecular biology and related fields.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-doctoral research experience, with a significant portion in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with a broad range of molecular biology techniques (e.g., gene cloning, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry).
  • Proficiency in CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and next-generation sequencing (NGS) applications.
  • Strong understanding of cellular biology, genetics, and immunology.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and interpretation, including statistical analysis and bioinformatics.
  • Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills, with a track record of publications.
  • Proven ability to secure research funding is a strong plus.
  • Experience in mentoring and managing research teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
